The Guide-Interpreter Buisiness Law

In Japan, just like elsewhere in the world, there is a law provision stipulating that only persons who have passed the guide-interpreter exam, which is administered by the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport, may work for a fee. Whoever offers guide-interpreter service for a fee without the license meets a stiff penalty of up to 500,000 yen.
